I want to introduce to you today a sailing adventure novel, which is different from other pirate novels. This sailing adventure novel is written from the perspective of a teenage child; by recalling the process of sailing adventures, the novel is called Treasure Island.


The author of Treasure Island is Robert Louis Stevenson, a great British novelist of the second half of the 19th century. His representative works are Novels Treasure Island, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Kidnapped, Catriona, etc.


He liked to travel around when he was young, which also accumulated a lot of resources for his later creations. After middle age, Stevenson devoted himself to novel writing and achieved very high achievements. As a result, his works are unique and varied in style and significantly influence the modernist literature of the 20th century.


Around the middle of the 20th century, critics took a fresh look at his works, re-examined Stevenson, included his works in the Western classics, and ranked him as one of the greatest writers of the 19th century.
